Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is not only one of the hardest games to spell, but this week it has devoured my spare time. I bought a 3DS XL in anticipation of the new Pokémon games coming later this year, but until then needed something to play. It’s basically a cross between a rhythm action game and a JRPG, but only in a very loose sense. The gameplay is mainly tapping and swiping in time to various tunes from the 13 main Final Fantasy games, but you can level up characters, equip spells and items and so on.
It’s really rather good and the art style is just so damn cute! Just watch this video and see what you think – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHqIsFHFGrQ. I’ve also been keeping busy guest appearing on another podcast, which as always seems to involve me drinking a ridiculous amount of booze and slurring my words. I’ll paste it here when the show goes up, but if you’ve been following the adventures of The Monkeychunk Show for a year then you’ll have a good idea what show I’m talking about.
Consequently my new regime went to shit, with my planned day of renovation a complete and utter write off – necking a whole bottle of rum will do that to ya – and I caved to Laura’s suggestion of having pizza hut for tea. But it was delicious and perfect hangover food. It comes as no surprise to me then that I gained weight this week – 1 lb – so I’ll be doing some real work this week to rectify that. I’m still on target (4 weeks done, 7 lbs total lost), but I am still disappointed that I let things get out of hand.
