About Me

Hello, brave reader and welcome to my website.

As you may have noticed my blog is all about gaming, which is an astute observation and as natural a topic as any for me to make a website about as video gaming in all its forms has played a significant role in my life.

From those halcyon days of keying games on my Acorn Electron in BASIC, to the cynical modern times of video game journalism I’ve managed to survive the many format wars and still find gaming as fun as it was when I was a wee urchin. It has never been as good a time for gaming as it is right now.

My name is John. You can call me that, or you can call me Johnus as most people do nowadays. Since declaring my Xbox Live moniker it has grown on me and if you pronounce it correctly – “John-us” rather than “Jonas” – I will be your best friend forever!

Want to know more about me? Okay, I’m a 2930 year old married bloke from Morecambe, a nice little seaside town in the north-west of England. My wife and I live and work in Norwich, and despite having a “real job” as a web developer I’m also a freelance games reviewer (check out my portfolio for details of all published work) and semi-competent podcaster (you can catch my vocal stylings every week on The Monkeychunk Show).

I set up this site to be able to collect all my writings in one place, post gaming news and opinions, post silly youtube videos and experiment with web technology I’m not overly familiar with. This is the sites 7th graphical version and with this latest update it has also had a “reboot”, and is now wholly dedicated to my adventures in 20112012.

If you want to get in touch, be it to request my services or just chew my ear about gaming, I tend to frequent the following digital haunts – Twitter | Facebook | Google Plus | Instagram | Foursquare

Thanks for reading, friend.
