Too many games, not enough time

Too many games

I’ve been meaning to update the blog with the games I’ve been completing lately, but I’ve been struck by the realisation that I have a severe problem – I have too many games! Right now I’ve got these Xbox 360 titles on my playlist:

  • Gears of War 3
  • The Adventures of Tintin
  • Battlefield 3
  • Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
  • Skyrim

Finding the time to “finish” them is proving nigh impossible, but keep watching this space for the inevitable reviews links/opinion pieces. I’m hoping to get at least 3 out of the 5 completed before I head home for Xmas.

In the mean time, if you want to get my incomplete and uneducated opinions in an audio format, please download The Monkeychunk Show, possible the world’s greatest podcast that I’ve been a host on. Be warned it may contain sweary words, naughty jokes and the occasional incorrect fact.

Oops I did it again…

How to kill a blog in 50 days

Ah the classic behaviour of a blog owner, without the right inspiration and routine, it turns out I’ve abandoned this blog! I think I’ve done this with every single iteration of the blog, so I can see a pattern occurring, usually around the half year mark. I’m not sure how I become so disconnected from posting regularly, maybe it’s the choice of video games I’m playing that keeps me distracted, or the activities I spend my time doing.

I’m doubtful anyone has me subbed in an RSS feed (I’ve never got round to checking the analytics side of this blog), but if you read this post then I thank you for your patience. If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to since my last post on August 20th, well here’s my attempt at a recollection:

So that’s a brief re-cap of the last two months, I see now how I allowed myself to get carried away! Right now I’ve got Gears 3 and Dark Souls on the go, with Dead Island and Persona 4 eyeing them jealously, so my time already seems jam packed! Stay tuned and maybe I’ll post something here at some point within the next 60 days :D

Back once again…

Incoming message from the big giant head...Yep, it’s been a busy few weeks with a lot going on in my life, more will be explained soon in the form of a video – I’m just waiting for a quiet moment to sit and record something so that I can play around in iMovie.

Anyway, thanks for coming back and making sure I was okay, I’ve been doing some quiet introspection when looking at the blog and decided to change to a new skin, I hope you like it (and before anyone asks, no I didn’t make it, I’m far too lazy for that!).

There’s a new contact form – look at the menu on the top right of the screen – if you notice anything broken, please contact me so I can fix it. I may not be the worlds best php developer (hint – I’m not a php developer) but I can sure try and bend the code to my will. There is no spoon!

Happy New Year folks!

Well hello there, and welcome to the blog for 2011.

In a moment of despression/wisdom/boredom (delete as appropriate) I’ve decided to unleash the WordPress wardrobe wizard onto the blog and wipe all previous posts and add a rather simple iPhone inspired Notepad blog skin. I’m literally rebooting this blog and it will serve as a chronicle of the events in my life during 2011. Leaving any blog unattended for long periods of time can be really disheartening and make returning to regular posting difficult, but the new year always seems like the best time to start some resolutions and for me this will be one I stick to.

What can you expect to see during the year if you read this blog? Well I’ll be writing about the games I play and complete, adding links to any reviews I write which are posted on the interwebs, embedding funny videos and maybe, just maybe, the odd heartfelt piece about online friendships and days gone by. I’m not mental, so I won’t be joining the One a Day Project or anything like that – besides, I couldn’t write anything legible like that and there’s no way anyone would read it! This’ll probably just be a once-a-week effort, that’s all I’m forcing myself to stick to for now, but we’ll see what happens as the year goes on.

Thanks for reading, friend.
