My video of the week (5/52)

If this one doesn’t get your toes tapping, your head bobbing and at least 3 other nondescript body parts moving around then there’s something inherently wrong with you. Thanks to this video I’ve found a few other excellent French electropop tracks from the group Yelle which have brightened my outlook in the frigid February mornings. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it too!

My video of the week (4/52)

To quote the uploader of this video – “The pinnacles of art and music combine at last”. Despite it being totally cheese-tastic, I’ve got a special place in my heart for groups like LMFAO and this video makes me smile so much. And if anything, I needed a new video for this song to get the image of old men dancing out of my head.

Thanks to my awesome friend Phil, I have now discovered the musical delights of Brett Domino. Combining clever electronic recreations of popular songs combined with a thick Yorkshire accent, they are both funny and awesome at the same time. If you listened to this weeks episode of The Monkeychunk Show, you’ll probably have heard this one, but seek him out on YouTube, there are many more medley mashup marvels.

I can still remember when The Fast Show first hit my tv screen in 1994. Its combination of rapid fire sketches and unforgettable catchphrases made it a hit amongst my friends and you could always count on hearing them repeated ad nauseum in the playground. To make anyone else who remembers it feel their age, can you believe it has been over 10 years since the last ever episode (the one with Johnny Depp)?!

Fortunately, even the haggard effects of time are not enough to keep this comedy team apart and they’re back for a new web series, endorsed by Fosters lager, who have previously brought new Reeves and Mortimer material to us. Check out one of the videos above in which, amongst a number of sketches, the Jazz Club have to deal with an elderly jazz singer who can’t seem to remember what he’s doing. Nice.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a video of the week, but I’ve been tickled so much by a few videos from YouTube user MultiNinja20 that I couldn’t resist posting them here. What you are about to see (or have possibly already seen if you happened to click first without reading this) is a trailer for “12:00″ parts 1, 2 and 3, which I have deduced to be some kind of action/sci-fi movie trilogy from Ghana.

Obviously copyright laws aren’t as prevalent within the industry as they are in Hollywood, so the trailers feature a myriad of characters you’ll have seen in other films. Considering that millions of dollars haven’t been spent on special effects, the action is even more entertaining.

If you enjoyed this video, why not check out the other films on offer from MultiNinja20, which include 2016 (an Aliens versus Terminator mashup), Devil May Cry (probably not affiliated with the video game), Godfather part 1 and 2 and Nkrato a film about an orc from Oblivion wearing Cylon armour (I shrugged at this one too).
