Hey guys, in case you aren’t already subscribed to this show, here’s the latest episode of the podcast which I co-host with Steve Ridley, aka Monkeychunkuk (of S4G fame). This week is one of the mini-episodes (dubbed “Monkeybytes”) in which we just talk about the community game night, our Just Dance app contest and a couple of other bits.
I can still remember when The Fast Show first hit my tv screen in 1994. Its combination of rapid fire sketches and unforgettable catchphrases made it a hit amongst my friends and you could always count on hearing them repeated ad nauseum in the playground. To make anyone else who remembers it feel their age, can you believe it has been over 10 years since the last ever episode (the one with Johnny Depp)?!
Fortunately, even the haggard effects of time are not enough to keep this comedy team apart and they’re back for a new web series, endorsed by Fosters lager, who have previously brought new Reeves and Mortimer material to us. Check out one of the videos above in which, amongst a number of sketches, the Jazz Club have to deal with an elderly jazz singer who can’t seem to remember what he’s doing. Nice.
Hey guys, in case you aren’t already subscribed to this show, here’s the latest episode of the podcast which I co-host with Steve Ridley, aka Monkeychunkuk (of S4G fame). This week we (still) talk about Skyrim, but throw in some other game and movie talk including my thoughts on the new Twilight film. As it’s a “proper” episode we also answer your “Dear John” questions, talk about our App of the Week and also choose the next item for the Steve vs John challenge.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a video of the week, but I’ve been tickled so much by a few videos from YouTube user MultiNinja20 that I couldn’t resist posting them here. What you are about to see (or have possibly already seen if you happened to click first without reading this) is a trailer for “12:00″ parts 1, 2 and 3, which I have deduced to be some kind of action/sci-fi movie trilogy from Ghana.
Obviously copyright laws aren’t as prevalent within the industry as they are in Hollywood, so the trailers feature a myriad of characters you’ll have seen in other films. Considering that millions of dollars haven’t been spent on special effects, the action is even more entertaining.
If you enjoyed this video, why not check out the other films on offer from MultiNinja20, which include 2016 (an Aliens versus Terminator mashup), Devil May Cry (probably not affiliated with the video game), Godfather part 1 and 2 and Nkrato a film about an orc from Oblivion wearing Cylon armour (I shrugged at this one too).
I’ve been meaning to update the blog with the games I’ve been completing lately, but I’ve been struck by the realisation that I have a severe problem – I have too many games! Right now I’ve got these Xbox 360 titles on my playlist:
Gears of War 3
The Adventures of Tintin
Battlefield 3
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Skyrim
Finding the time to “finish” them is proving nigh impossible, but keep watching this space for the inevitable reviews links/opinion pieces. I’m hoping to get at least 3 out of the 5 completed before I head home for Xmas.
In the mean time, if you want to get my incomplete and uneducated opinions in an audio format, please download The Monkeychunk Show, possible the world’s greatest podcast that I’ve been a host on. Be warned it may contain sweary words, naughty jokes and the occasional incorrect fact.
...and welcome to the blog. My name, of course, is John and I'll be your host as you enter a magical grotto of words and pictures, spewn forth from the mind of this beardy, Northern, gamer geek.
